Nascida em Salvador e em transi\u00e7\u00e3o para o Rio de Janeiro, Astrud conheceu Jo\u00e3o Gilberto, considerado \u201cO pai da bossa nova\u2019\u2019, com quem se casou em 1959. Dando inicio a sua carreira musical em 1960 e logo lan\u00e7ando seu sucesso mundial em 1964, gerando a vers\u00e3o em ingl\u00eas de \u201cGarota de Ipanema\u201d. No mesmo ano, venceu o Grammy Latino de grava\u00e7\u00e3o do ano por \u201c The Girl From Ipanema\u201d.<\/p>\n
